100 Things About Me…
My full name is Allison Ann Arnold.
I am married to Shane Adams, he is my very best friend.
I kept my name for many reasons, I don’t feel it makes me any less married to do so.
I have been an artist of some type my entire life.
I have a younger sister, Ashley, who is a wonderful, strong woman and dear friend.
My parents, Tom and Carol, are still married and in love and that is a treasure.
My family are the closest people to me in my life.
I grew up in Iowa.
I went to a private, Catholic school even though I am not catholic.
I danced all through high school, college and one year professionally for the ABA.
I now coach a high school dance team with my sister.
My favorite subject in school was always art.
My first car was a white, 1987 Pontiac Sunbird that I paid $900 cash for. I named it “White Trash”
Shane and I were married in the church I grew up attending.
My favorite season is Autumn.
My favorite color is black.
My favorite food is Mexican.
My favorite meal is Chipotle. (I am addicted)
My favorite actor is Gwyneth Paltrow.
My favorite car is a red mini cooper with white stripes.
My favorite candy is peanut M&Ms
My favorite article of clothing is a scarf. I love them! I have about 25, half of which my sister has made for me!
My favorite singer is Sarah McLachlan
The best concert I have ever been to was Madonna in New York City.
My favorite movie is Great Expectations.
My favorite book is The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks
I am all about sparkly jewelry.
I went to college at Graceland University.
I double majored in Studio Art; Painting and Commercial Design.
I worked as the Senior Graphic Designer at a local magazine for over 4 years.
I started my own mural and custom painting business March of 2005.
This last year working for myself has been the most rewarding.
Shane and I have a dog, his name is Dreyfuss.
I love my dog and he completes our family.
I to this point in my life have never wanted children.
I have always wanted to travel all over the world.
I stopped eating meat August of 2005.
For a vegetarian, I only like a couple of fruits and veggies.
My favorite clothing store is Anthropologie.
My favortie “anything” store is Target.
For exercise I love yoga and dancing.
I wish I had a personal trainer because I miss the push of coach.
My husband was an English major but is now a web/graphic designer. He is really good. He could do anything he wanted, I believe in him so much.
He is also a very talented photographer.
He will never know how much he means to me.
He treats me the way I always hoped I would be treated in a marriage.
I love taking naps.
I love going to the movies.
I need things to smell good. I love scented candles and lotions.
If I could, I would have fresh flowers in my home everyday. Because they are pretty and they smell good.
I like things to be natural. I am not big on medicine or plastic surgery.
I am obsessed with magazines. I can’t go into a store without looking at all of them.
I go weak in the knees for accents.
I also seem to be drawn to men that look like they need a shower…the scruffy type, a little dirty, a little hairy.
My favorite opera I have ever seen was Romeo and Juliet.
My favorite dance I have ever seen was by Alvin Ailey.
I own most the colors of Fiesta Ware and I love them. Their colors make me happy.
My kitchen is purple because my art teacher in high school’s room was purple and I remember being so happy when I was in there.
I enjoy decorating. I want to redecorate my house all the time.
I would like to be able to sing,
and speak another language,
and play the piano.
I love Mr. Pibb but I try not to drink soda anymore.
If I were to have a soda, it would have to be a fountain drink from Quick Trip.
I have had an “eye condition” in my eyelids. It has kept me from wearing my contacts all the time like I would like to.
I would drink a Starbucks Gingerbread Latte’ every morning with my G-ma’s lemon bread for breakfast.
I adore the way my Grandparents interacted with each other for 63 years. I hope to have a life time of love with Shane.
I have many paintings and drawings in my head that haven’t been put to canvas or paper yet.
I try to sketch my ideas as soon as they come.
I believe in carrying a sketch book around to document daily experiences.
I find journaling and sketching to be a part of my journey.
I believe in constant self discovery and growth.
I hope to run my own gallery where I can help promote local artists. I also hope to help keep art in schools and/or other programs that can offer it.
My favorite artist is Georgia O’Keeffe.
I was able to visit the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, a dream of mine.
Currently my favorite TV show is Big Bang Theory.
My new favorite product is Philosophy.
My favorite spa experience was at Ten Thousand Waves in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was an hour and a half massage in a tree house with Shane.
My favorite trip with Shane was to Italy in 2007.
My favorite trip with my family was to San Antonio, TX
I don’t believe money makes you successful.
I believe in the power of prayer.
Shane and I became ordained priests on the same day to the Community of Christ Church.
I believe your own personal relationship with God means more than a particular religion.
I have been blessed to be surrounded by faithful people.
I enjoy discussion on important topics.
I want to be inspired by others.
I want to surround myself with people I can learn and grow from.
I hope to create art that captures the small moments of life that I find dear.
I hope to never lose creativity.
One of the worst things I could imagine would be to lose my eyesight.
I love animals and nature.
I cry during movies.
I like feeling moved by something.
I love Chiefs football at our house.
I once died my hair pink with kool-aid.
I like changing my hair; color and length.
I have broken a 1 inch board with my hand – karate chop!
I love thunderstorms.
My favorite painting that I have done “You Are What You Eat” will never be one that I sell. Some things mean more than money.
